{Craft} Our New Gallery Wall
January 5, 2012 in All Posts, Craft
For years, I have been obsessed with living in a grand New York apartment with a wall full of beautifully colorful frames like Ingrid Bergman’s in the film Indiscreet (one of my favorites):

I’ve given up that dream, but still have an itch to create some kind of frame-decorated wall.
Like this heart-shaped gallery wall:

Since we had Granny and DadDad visiting over Thanksgiving, my idea was pushed into being a little more quickly than I had planned.
I had the easel paper taped to the floor and the measuring tape and markers ready to draw the outlines of where each photo should be placed so we could transfer the paper to the wall and easily put up the pictures in their proper spots, but we ended up slapping them up just by eyeballing it.
We’re still adding to it and need to move a few photos around, but I’m glad we finally got it started. It’s something that really reminds us that we’re a family. And that there’s no place like home.
Do you have any cool ideas for a gallery wall? Would love to see yours!
Love the asymmetry to the pictures.
We just moved so I have a ton of walls to decorate and will probably do at least one gallery wall. Thanks for the inspiration.
Would love to see yours, Trisha, when it’s finished! I like that it’s not all lined, up, too
Looks fabulous.
I swear we are on the same wavelength all the time lately. I have spent the past 2-3 weeks working on photo gallery display ideas for our house. My friend is posting about ideas daily on her photography blog. Love how your wall turned out. If I get anything finally finished next week I’ll have to show you what I’ve done.
It is so hard to pick pictures and make decisions and pic frames, etc!!
It’s so hard to decide, isn’t it? I just said, let’s go with the photos we printed and we can swap them out later. We used cheapie frames since I knew we were going to use a lot. I don’t think it really matters since they’re all crowded in one space together. Can’t wait to see yours when it’s up!
Your wall looks great! Our wall above our couch seems so bare. I’ll have to show this to my hubby and start working on something like this.
I’d love for you to share: http://tutusandteaparties.blogspot.com/2011/12/pinteresting-link-party-week-twenty.html
Thanks, Lauren! I’ll come link up
It’s totally easy to do - would love to see what you end up doing. You can measure and make everything perfect, but we just eye-balled it!
Thanks, Lauren! I linked up to your party
