{Bake} Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

March 27, 2012 in All Posts, Bake

The other day while Sam napped, Jane and I were watching a bit of “What Will Martha Teach Us Today” - more popularly known as “The Martha Stewart Show” - and Jane was inspired to make oatmeal cookies. After watching Martha stir up a batch, she squealed, “I LOVE oatmeal!” followed by, “I love cookies!” Neither of which is true. But, we switched off the tube anyway, and made these Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies:

Jane’s favorite part of baking is always the process rather than the product. While she’s proud that she’s made something when we pull it out of the oven, she isn’t normally interested in eating it, and most of her delight comes from the measuring, mixing, and creating. Most of the baked goodies we make together, usually ends up in friends’ and babysitters’ bellies.

We followed this recipe.

You could add raisins to yours, but don’t be fooled into thinking it’s any healthier. A cookie is a cookie is a cookie …

… unless it truly is a low-fat, low-carb, low-sugar cookie. This cookie is not.

Happy Baking!
