{Play} Easter Egg Dye Crayon Resist Art & Kids Co-Op Playdate Linky

April 6, 2012 in All Posts, Kids Co-op Linky Playdate, Play, Toddler Activities

Welcome to The Kid’s Co-op Weekly Playdate!

This is my first week as a hostess and I’m thrilled to be bringing you an opportunity to share your best play ideas from the week and a place to browse for new inspiration.

Since this is our first playdate together, I don’t have any highlights from last week’s linky, so I’ll share some of our activities from this week and a new one: Easter Egg Dye Crayon Resist Art.

This activity actually came out of a few failed eggs-periments when we tried the crayon resist technique and tape resist technique on our Easter eggs - plus a random olive oil trial and salted egg experiment. Our unimpressive results:

Eventually, we just used white crayons on paper and painted with the leftover Easter egg dye (water, vinegar, and liquid food coloring per the instructions on the food coloring box). We tried a few sheets of numbers and a few sheets of Easter-themed letters and words. Click on the collages for a better view.

All in all, not a total bust at all! Here are a few other activities we’ve been enjoying:

Multi-Color Crayons

Magic Rainbow Rice Letters

Easter Candy Math

Now - time to link up your best kids’ art, crafts, recipes, and activities! I’ll feature my favorites next week. Please try to show some love to everyone else participating by visiting a few links and leaving comments or sharing, tweeting, or pinning if the mood strikes. Don’t forget to grab a badge:
