{Craft} Yarn Wrapped Letters Nursery Gift
Need inspiration for a different take on the DIY monogram or a homemade nursery gift for a newborn? How about these Yarn Wrapped Letters:
To give you an idea of how long it takes me to get around to doing any of the projects on my Crafty Bucket List, I was inspired by this, made by co-guest Megan of Megan Brooke Handmade in Erin‘s Valentine’s Day series at Nest For Less, almost four months ago!
Initially, I had planned to make a second version of this Baby Girl Yarn Wreath when Iris was born eight months ago, but somehow never managed to. Since I had yarn saved up for that project, it was easy to come up with these cute Yarn Wrapped Letters instead.
I love how they turned out, even though I didn’t have enough time to get them perfect around all the edges . . . but that would have probably taken me another four months!
*Note: these are just as hand-cramp-inducing as the wreath was!
Happy Crafting!
i love this idea! i made yarn letters by wrapping pipe cleaners at valentine’s day, but i like the way yours turned out on these so much more. great idea! (our pipe cleaner yarn bombing: http://paintcutpaste.com/valentine-mantel/ )
These are gorgeous!!!!!! The different patterns and colors really pop- very creative!
Great idea to wrap with the yarn. Thanks for sharing.
These look FABULOUS!!!
Thanks, Erin! Took me a while to get around to making them, but it was worth it
I made some of these last year - all wrapped up (yours are seriously cute, I love the variations from letter to letter). I just don’t know how to hang them. Suggestions? Did you put a hook on the back?
Thanks for visiting, Jamie
I used wooden letters that already had a little groove for a nail or picture hook in the back. I’d guess you could glue a hook on the back to hang them on a nail if yours didn’t have the little cutout. I think they’d be so cute leaning on a book case or against a wall on a dresser, too, though!
What a fun baby gift. I like how you have so much variety between the letter but they all work together. This would be fun in my kids’ rooms. Just pinned this. Vicky from http://www.messforless.net
Thanks for the sweet comment, Vicky! I like how they came out, but really hadn’t planned it that way
Thanks for stopping by!
These are gorgeous - I am looking at doing something with the children’s names on for their rooms to get into the habit of seeing their names around the place in preparation for school and nursery.
I would also love you to link up with Made with Love 😀
Thanks, Cerys! You should definitely try these, but give yourself enough time because doing them in a hurry will probably induce carpal tunnel
Thanks for the reminder about Made With Love
