Mother’s Day Gift Ideas and Card Inspiration

Mother’s Day is slowly creeping up and the kids and I haven’t started on any homemade gifts or cards for my mom yet. If you’re in the same boat, I have a collected a few fun Mother’s Day gift ideas and Mother’s Day card inspiration - both DIY and storebought - to show the special moms and mother figures in your and your children’s lives how much they’re appreciated.

10 Ideas for Mother’s Day Gifts and Cards to Make
- Make a homemade picture frame (like these made with $1 wooden frames or use popsicle sticks for free!)
- Make a colorful upcycled card using old magazines or catalogs (we used this technique here and here)
- Make a bouquet of tissue paper flowers
- Make a yarn wrapped vase to go with your flowers
- Make a jar of hearts or flowers with special notes for mom
- Make a book of chore coupons for mom to use when she needs a break from everyday housework
- Make a cardboard heart locket
- Make thumbprint flower cards (just paint a circle in the middle and use thumbprints all around for the petals)
- Make a bouquet of egg carton flowers
- Bake a fancy box cake like this one

This was my favorite of the lot - and honestly, it was because of the amount of glitter and the color scheme, not the hilariously cheeky message:

It was so easy to make the prints and the words that appear underneath the prints were a magical surprise.
I tried to get the kids to only put one hand down, but they LOVED seeing their handprints appear, so we have a lot of happy prints to share!

We have four two year-old toddlers. If I had a diaper-free day, that would be great. The cards you have pictured are beautiful. I am a big fan of cards (both giving and receiving). Before we had the kids and I got out more, I was recognized by the employees of our local Hallmark (as a regular).
My favourite gift is hugs and kisses from my girls, and if they make me something with their own little hands, that’s an added bonus.
The best gift I could ask for on Mother’s Day is to have my husband at home - because last year he got sent away on business over Mother’s Day. He also had no idea it was Mother’s Day. If he is here then I can make sure he remembers.
Love this giveaway! I have an ongoing love affair with paper. And, although cheesy, my favorite part about Mother’s Day are the handwritten messages!

Not to expect any gift on Mother’s day:-) All the time I think of something and get disappointed at the end! But I silently wish to have no cooking, no chores day!

Mother’s Day means time with my family. Beyond that, I don’t “need” a thing. With that said, homemade cards rock!

It’s always hard for me to think of things I’d like for Mother’s Day. A day home alone or at a spa comes to mind
But, my absolute favorite gifts have been my Mother’s necklaces from Vintage Pearl and Brag About It. By far, they are my most worn pieces of jewelry (aside from my wedding rings)
